The Secret of the Swiss Chalet

Most Likely Printed - 1960

This is the twentieth book in the Dana Girls series. The series was started in 1934. This particular copy of The Secret of the Swiss Chalet was most likely printed in 1960. This assumption is based on the books advertised on the jacket back (Nancy Drew Golden Pavilion - 1959) and inside the book (Nancy Drew Old Stagecoach - 1960).

This is a very nice copy. The DJ is in very good condition. It’s clean and bright with good color. There are small chips, rubs, and creases on the top and bottom edge and at the spine and flap folds. There is a larger chip out of the spine top, but no printing is missing. There is a 1" tear at the bottom of the front flap fold and a 1" tear with some chips missing on the top edge of the jacket back. The front flap fold has some chipping on the side edge and the rear flap fold has a closed tear on the side edge. Check out the scans to see the condition of this jacket.

The book is in excellent condition. The color is excellent. The binding is tight, and all pages are securely attached. There is a little shelf wear on the top and bottom board edges. There is no writing anywhere in the book. There is some minor paper damage, probably from tape, on the front fixed end paper. It corresponds with the paper loss on the jacket front flap, so it was probably taped to the book at one time. There is a very tiny amount of paper loss on the rear fixed end paper, which probably means that the rear jacket flap was also taped down. There is no remaining tape, tape residue, or staining present on the book or jacket.

A note about the scans of this book:
My scanner adds a pink tone to the white areas of the book and jacket. It can be seen on the title page and on the jacket back. The color is actually creamy white with no pink tone.

All jackets are protected in a mylar cover to prevent damage.
